The 2026 Twin Cities Auto Show wrapped up at the Minneapolis Convention Center on January 11th. This year's show brought exciting updates from a number of brands! In an era where it seems that brands only update every handful of years, I'd argue that we're experiencing a bit of an awakening. Take a look at the changes happening to the Toyota Rav4, Jeep Cherokee, Kia Telluride, and more - I think you'd agree!
THE NEXT GENERATION OF JEEP
Stellantis has acknowledged the stagnant status of their product lineup in recent years, but is extremely vocal about huge changes moving forward. Jeep brought along two major updates to their lineup - the all-new Recon and the revived Cherokee, which is back for the 2026MY after being briefly discontinued back in 2023.
The Jeep Recon, in my opinion, takes on some visual inspiration from the Wrangler and the Land Rover Defender. It features an all-electric drivetrain, and the classic features you'd expect from Jeep - removable roof and doors, a versatile roof rack, and off-road ready capabilities.
Cherokee is back with a huge face-lift and introduces a newly available hybrid powertrain with up to 500 miles of range.
LAMBORGHINI MAKES A DEBUT APPEARANCE
Lamborghini Minneapolis is set to open in Wayzata, MN in late 2026. Part of the Walser Automotive Group, they've made select appearances over the last year including the 2026 Twin Cities Auto Show.
On Display:
Lamborghini Revuelto - the first HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) hybrid super sports car combining a 12-cylinder internal combustion engine with three high-density electric motors.
Lamborghini Temerario - the second HPEV, following the Revuelto. The Temerario features a V8 twin-turbo engine paired with three electric motors.
Lamborghini Urus - where luxury and performance meets the everyday practicality of a capable SUV.
THE CHEVY BOLT IS BACK
Despite a major downtrend of EV demand following the expiration of Federal and State tax credits, the Chevrolet Bolt joins the Jeep Recon on the list of new electric options for the upcoming model year.
The Bolt was discontinued in 2023, but had a fiercely loyal segment of consumers. With the return for the 2027MY, the Bolt takes on a size similar to the previous EUV version of the Bolt, and is expected to make waves in the compact SUV segment. Is the loyalty still there after the brief pause?
NOT PICTURED: 2027 KIA TELLURIDE
Kia dropped the ball on this year's auto show in Minneapolis, failing to bring their highly-anticipated Telluride. The 3-row SUV received its first major redesign since first launching in 2020, and it's a head-turner.
But fear not - the all-new 2027 Kia Telluride is set to arrive on dealer lots by the end of January 2026.
Kia has done an incredible job repositioning the brand in recent years. I think back to their old hamster commercials with the Kia Soul. It's exciting to see the strides they continue to make!
